The video of this year’s Kentucky Derby is still queued up in my computer’s tab bar every time I open Chrome. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve watched it. I’m hooked on the feeling I get with each viewing.
In case you aren’t a fan of the Triple Crown activities (and if you’ve been hiding under that rock where I sometimes take residence): Golden Tempo joined the very small list of Derby horses to come from dead last – and I mean very dead last – to claim the win during the final seconds.
The other two horses who have done that since such statistics have been kept are Mine That Bird in 2009 and Rich Strike in 2022. (Don’t you love it when the horses’ names match the outcomes so wonderfully?)
