By the time you read this, the 2026 mid-term
elections are over and we have a pretty good
idea of who was elected, where the power of the
nation will reside and the direction our noble
country will be traveling. At the time I am writing this article it is Sunday Morning and
there is only speculation as to what our
nation will look like next week. What
is certain is that the future of America
could be bright with some hardships or
speed bumps that we have to face along
our journey or the future could appear
bleak and stark with the beginning of
the stripping of human values. Regardless of what our future holds, I am
personally an optimist and believe that
the glass is half full and not half empty. As John
Locke has written, the state of nature will return
and we will once again have peace and tranquility.
The strength of any nation depends upon the
willingness of its citizens to place the common
good above personal interests and political loyalties. Throughout history, countries have prospered when people united around shared values
and national goals. Conversely, nations have
weakened when political divisions, extremist
ideologies, and internal conflicts became more
important than the welfare of the country itself.
In the United States, preserving national unity
requires citizens to put the nation above political party while remaining vigilant against ideologies that threaten freedom, democracy, and
social stability.
