From ‘apotheosis’ to ‘verklempt’ — really?

The struggle is real – or in this case, the fascination. 

Yes, I’ve been enthralled by words as long as I can remember. If you’ve read this column for any length of time, you know that. 

Today, the attraction is kicking in big time. I’ve scoured my computer files to see what words captivated me in the past – and the files go back as far as 2017. Five of them. Not sure why I have so many. Would have been more efficient with only one or two. But I’ve got: 

“Words to use in column” … “Weird words for column” … “Column ideas + words I want to use” … “Words learned on Wordle, Spelling Bee, Letter Boxed” … “Words I heard recently that I want to use in a column” (somebody should teach me to be more succinct) … “Words from Sticky Notes” (Sticky Notes was a method of saving things I used in the past).
