Sheriff Dusty Gates an- nounced that Sarah Hamilton of Union Parish has been named the recipient of an academic scholarship from the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program for the 2024-2025 school year. She resides in Farmerville and plans to attend University of Louisiana at Lafayette with Nursing as her field of study. Her parents are Dusty and Crystal Hamilton.

Calhoun – On Friday, April 25, 2025, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Po- lice Troop F began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on U.S. Hwy 80 near Boatwright Road. The crash claimed the life of 42-year-old Mark Chevalier of Monroe.
