FARMERVILLE – Phillip Ellis’ campaign for Third Judicial District Court judge gained momentum October 13 as supporters from a broad cross section of the community gathered at the Willie Davis Recreation Center for an evening of food, fellowship and encouragement.

Public officials, community dignitaries, working people, educators and law-enforcement personnel joined the gathering, reflecting the broad appeal of Ellis’ candidacy as the November 3 election approaches.

Ellis, 40, is seeking the Division B judgeship serving Lincoln and Union parishes. A north Louisiana native with deep roots in the area, he brings experience in law enforcement, public service and private practice to the race.

Family and faith are central to his life. Ellis and his wife, Lauren, have two children. He is a longtime member of Weldon Baptist Church in Bernice, where he has attended for most of his life and teaches an adult Sunday school class. His commitment to his family, church and community provides a foundation for his desire to serve the district.
