Appreciation; These words can cause us to Slow Down and appreciate all the hard-working farmers who feed us and appreciate our God who made them. Amen.

Diesel hit $6 a gallon this week. Oil is over $105 a barrel.
But tonight, I want you to forget about barrels of oil for a minute.
Look at this mama cow. To most people, she’s just a cow standing in a barn.
To the rancher who owns her, she’s so much more.
She represents thousands of dollars invested with absolutely no guarantee of a return.
She represents hay put up on the hottest days of summer so she’ll have something to eat on the coldest nights of winter.
She represents frozen fingers breaking ice, muddy boots at 2:00 in the morning, sleepless nights during calving season, vet bills, feed bills, fuel bills, busted equipment and miles of fence that never seem to stay fixed.
She represents birthdays missed, dinners interrupted and plans changed because the cattle don’t know it’s Sunday, Christmas morning, or your kid’s ballgame. And after all of that, she gets one chance each year to raise one calf. One.
The rancher feeds her for 365 days.
Checks her when she’s sick.
Watches over her when she’s calving.
Prays for rain when the grass turns brown.
Prays for sunshine when it’s time to make hay.
And when that calf finally goes to market, the rancher doesn’t get to name his price.
He takes what the market gives him.
Sometimes there’s a profit.
Sometimes there’s barely enough to keep going.
And sometimes, after an entire year of work, there’s nothing left at all.
Yet the next morning, before daylight, that rancher gets up and does it again. Why?
Because agriculture has never just been about money.
It’s about watching a newborn calf take its first breath.
It’s about seeing your children (or grandson David) riding beside you checking cows.
It’s about looking across a pasture your father or grandfather once worked and knowing you’re carrying something forward that money can’t buy.
It’s about leaving your children more than land.
It’s leaving them a way of life.
Every steak on a grill and every pound of hamburger in a grocery store started somewhere like this—with a mama cow and a farmer or rancher willing to take the risk.
Behind that package of beef is somebody’s land.
Somebody’s savings.
Somebody’s sweat.
Somebody’s sleepless night.
Somebody’s family.
Somebody’s dream.
And a whole lot of faith.
So when you look at that mama cow, don’t just see cattle.
See the family behind her.
See the sacrifice.
See the generations.
See the prayers.
See the people who keep doing it—not because it’s easy, and certainly not because they’re guaranteed to get rich. They do it because feeding people is more than their business. It’s their life. Thankyou Jesus!! Amen.

“Live in Peace, Walk in Grace”
In his closing words to the church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul offers a timeless blueprint for Christian living. Writing in 2 Corinthians 13:11–13, he urges believers:
“Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All God’s people send their greetings.”
Our world often feels divided, chaotic, and exhausting. Yet, Paul reminds us that our primary calling as a community is simple: restore what is broken and live in peace. Restoration isn’t about striving for perfection in our own strength; it’s about aligning our hearts with God’s love and offering grace to those around us.
When Paul calls us to encourage one another and be of one mind, he isn’t asking us to agree on every minor detail. Instead, he invites us to anchor our lives in a shared hope and unity found in Christ. When we choose kindness over conflict and encouragement over criticism, the presence of the God of love and peace becomes tangible in our churches, neighborhoods, workplaces, and homes.
Paul wraps up his letter with a powerful blessing: “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
Whatever challenges you face this week, remember that you do not walk alone. Lean into the grace of Jesus, rest in the unwavering love of God, and stay connected through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

A Dead Dog In the King’s Court, 2 Samuel 9:1-8
The Kindness of the King, 2 Samuel 9: 1- 3
King Saul sought to kill David because he was jealous of him. Before our salvation experience we were in rebellion to God. Like Mephibosheth, we were lame and hopeless. God in His infinite love chose to show us mercy and provide the way of becoming His children by salvation through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
The Lowliness of the Lame, 2 Samuel 9: 5-8
At some point in our lives, we each come face to face with King Jesus and He convicts us of our sins. That is just between us and God. Sin has separated us from God. Then we find out what the truth really is; that Jesus died for our sins. Jesus seeks us out so that through our belief in Him and giving our lives to Him we are saved from our sins and have eternal life. We come to Him humbly, broken and lame just as Mephibosheth did to King David.
The Richness of Repentance, 2 Samuel 9: 10, 11, 13
Mephibosheth went from helplessness and poverty to hopefulness and riches. His inheritance from Johnathan and Saul were restored to him. He ate at King David’s table the rest of his life and was protected by King David. In the same way, when we repent of our sins to God and truly believe in Him, we inherit all the riches of God and His kingdom. We are joint heirs with Jesus, a child of God. Hallelujah!

Matthew 14:22-33 – And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” Now, before we are too hard on Peter, remember, he was willing to get out of the boat. When God calls us to serve, will we ‘get out of the boat’?
First, we must dispel illusions. The disciples said, “It is a ghost!” Often, we make things in our mind worse than they are. The more we know Christ, the more we study His Word, the easier it will be to recognize ‘counterfeits’. Next, we must defeat distractions. We must keep our eyes on Christ, focusing on Him rather that our problems… because HE who is in you is greater than he who is in the world – First John 4:11. Do we sometimes find ourselves too busy for Christ? And lastly, we must destroy any doubts. Sometimes we forget what Christ has already done in our life. When problems arise, we should automatically go to Him. “What HE has done before, HE will do, again!” Trust Him! Christ will walk with us through every problem. As we grow closer to Him, we will find it is impossible to come into His presence and not leave differently. And when HE calls you to get out of the boat, say “Yes!”; HE will lead you the rest of the way.
