Sunday there were several families out and some sick. Sunday school and worship attendance was down. The children and youth provided the special music. Dean is blessed to have children and youth involved the choir. Bro Aleck was out sick and Jed Rhodes was the speaker. We enjoyed having Jed and Joann join us Sunday. There is a Sunday school class for all ages. We would love for you to join us Sunday. If you are looking for a home church we would love to have you at Dean. We can’t THANK YOU enough for coming out to be with us last Sunday evening to hear the Cheniere Baptist Church Worship Team bring down the house with their strong & emotional praise songs. 

If you were with us, you also got to hear a powerful Revival “sermon” given by Justice Jay McCallum. He led us to self-examination of our faith, our evangelism and to the absolute knowledge that Jesus IS King of kings, Lord of lords. We reaffirmed that Jesus IS worthy of all the praise that we can give Him. Revelation 4: 8-9 That we need to remember that HE is in control; to not carry our burdens all by ourselves, not to worry about our personal situations nor the situations of the world. BUT… to PRAY. Prayers may be answered soon – or not. They may be answered as we wish – or not. BUT all prayers are heard by Him in heaven. Revelation 5:8 

Revival invitation stands for 1 more Sunday. Starting time is 6pm, but, please, come early – fellowship with your friends and community neighbors.

Bro. James David Miller’s sermon was taken from Galations 6:1-10, where the Apostle Paul taught the Galatian Christians how to treat one another and live by the Spirit. Those lessons still apply to us today. Love and kindness is the lifeblood of the church. If someone is caught in habitual sins, the spiritually mature should help restore the person with kindness and a gentle spirit, while watching out for their own faults. Love can be confrontational out of necessity, but if we can’t be kind, we shouldn’t criticize. And we should avoid pointing out the speck in another’s eye while tolerating a log in our own. Remembering our own salvation and the grace that God has shown us will lead to humility. We are nothing without Christ. While pride in ourselves leads to self-deception and self-destruction, consistent reflection on what Christ has done for us will lead us to self-examination. Conviction by the Holy Spirit and our subsequent repentance will bring us back to the joy and hope of our salvation. God cannot be fooled. Living in the flesh as a Christian mocks God, and we will harvest whatever seeds we plant. Sowing to the flesh leads to ruin, while sowing to the Spirit leads to eternal life. A healthy body of believers will not get tired of doing good work. We should try to help everyone when we have the chance, especially other believers in the faith community. And we should share the gospel of Christ’s birth, life, death, resurrection and His coming again with a zeal that matches the wonder and joy of our message! There is a Heaven; there is a Hell. It is important to know where you will spend Eternity. Matthew 7:21 – Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Second Corinthians 13:1-5 NKJV – Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you …? 

Are you really in the ‘faith’? How does one examine themselves? Only the Holy Spirit working with the Word of God can tell you. First John 5:3 – These things I have written to you who believe in the Name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have Eternal life. The Bible will tell us, if we are truly saved. 

Do you have a desire to live for God? Do you continuously give into temptation? Do you enjoy time in worship and fellowship with other Believers? We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren – First John 3:14. We have to examine ourselves; no one can tell us. Our life should demonstrate our faith. For I know Whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day – Second Timothy 1:12. A Believer need not doubt their salvation, because we can rest in God’s Word, that we have been forgiven! Do You Know that your name is written in the Book of Life? If not, today you can make it right with God!
