Blessings and Invitations: We are so richly blessed by the young ones in our congregation. They have stepped up with courage and confidence to publicly give voice in their praise of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Alas, when we gave thanks to them in a recent article, we did not mention that we have a bevy (a large group of people or things of a particular kind) — well… a small bevy of equally talented and courageous adults.

This small bevy of adults has been growing over the last few months and we have a few “shy” hopefuls waiting in the wings. We would love to invite you to come –- come and accompany our Grand Piano AND our Grand Pianist, Mr. Cody Chandler, in singing your favorite gospel song.

We also invite you to consider making us your home church. We are an active, giving congregation. We are active in our community with activities ranging from taking our youth on fun trips and religious retreats – to a chili cookoff contest – a cake fund-raising auction – working the Watermelon Festival & the 5K Run – feeding the kids at the Boys and Girls club – donating to the Trees of Righteousness Mission – participating in handicap ramp building with the Hometown Heros and other local charities.

Please consider coming to visit us. We would love to see you. As you will see with the following Bible verses; God wants us to “gather” — we are stronger in our faith together. ROMANS 1:12 “That is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.

Matthew 18:20 “Where two or three gather in Jesus’ name, He is present among them.” Hebrews 10:24-25 “Encourage one another and do not neglect meeting together.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Encourage and build each other up as you gather.”

1 CORINTHIANS 14:26 “What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn…” EPHESIANS 5:19 “Speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.”

Next time we come together, let’s remember that we are not just filling a space; we are fulfilling God’s purpose and destiny for our lives. Come – gather – visit for a spell, sing a song with us, have a meal with us, pray with us.

We are blessed to have been able to support the Gideon ministry monthly for years. We were very glad to welcome Richard and his wife to our services today.

For precept must be upon precept – Isaiah 28:10, this is how we grow in the Lord. Initially, the Law was given in order to point out not only to whom we should honor, but also what was sinful. But when Christ came, HE went one step further in instructing us how to live. Once HE paid the penalty for our sins, the Holy Spirit came to lead us in our Christian walk.

Romans 7:14-26 NKJV – There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.… the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. The carnal Christian may go from one extreme – “living like one chooses” to “saved by grace, living under the law”. As Christians, we have a battle going on inside of us, which we may not always feel we are winning. The biggest obstacle is ‘me’! Our focus is more on ‘self’, instead of looking to the Holy Spirit for direction.

Sin, that we choose to cover, the Law exposes, showing how sinful sin is compared to the holiness of God. Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses … because He makes intercession for the saints, according to the will of God. We need to stop trying, and start trusting the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to lead us in our Christian walk of faith. As a child of God, the way to holiness is to follow the Law ruled by love
