Bettye Auger

Funeral services for Mrs. Bettye Ann Auger, age 77 of Farmerville, LA were held at 2:00PM Monday March 20, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA with Rev. Kurt Auger and Cody Keys officiating. Burial followed in Enterprise Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

On March 17, 2023, Bettye Stewart Auger went home to be with the Lord following a brief illness.

Her life was a testimony of the goodness of God, and those who knew her recognized that her greatest joys were her deep faith in Jesus Christ and the relationships she had with her family and friends. She loved others sacrificially and wanted those around her to know the redeeming work of her Heavenly Father.

Bettye was born December 14, 1945. After graduating from Farmerville High School in 1963, she went on to graduate from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics, as well as her Master’s plus 30. Bettye loved her work as a home demonstration agent and furthered her career as a Home Economics teacher at Farmerville High School where she made a lasting impact on countless others. She served as an active member of First Baptist

Church, Farmerville, where over the years she had taught the young married Sunday School class, Faith/Joy Sunday School Class, New Christians class, and VBS. Bettye was preceded in death by her parents Marvis Stewart and Doyce Stewart Terral and step-father, Sam Terral. She is survived by her husband, Sonny Auger; three children: Kurt Auger (Rene), Kristy Auger Fine (Brian), and Kellye Auger Ketchum (Troy); 6 grandchildren: Magen Auger Keys (Cody), Jake Auger (Jenny), Brooks Auger, Kellen, Jack, and Hank Ketchum; 3 great-grandchildren: Piper and Deacon Keys and Brooklynn Auger; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Venters and all of the staff at Union General Hospital for the love and exceptional care shown to mom and our family the last few weeks.

Serving as pallbearers were Jake Auger, Brooks Auger, Troy Ketchum, Brian Fine, Mike Nolan, Steve Auger, Kellen Ketchum, Jack Ketchum, Hank Ketchum and Deacon Keys.

Visitation was held from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM Sunday March 19, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA.
