One of my former colleagues regularly sends me news stories about artificial intelligence – or as it’s widely known, AI.
Another friend who’s slow to jump on bandwagons is exploring ChatGPT.
And one of my former journalism students, now teaching my very favorite class on the Louisiana Tech campus, shared with me the rigors of checking whether her students actually wrote their assignments.
Yes, AI is everywhere. I must admit: I use it regularly – mostly to ponder ideas and help with headlines. I do know its limitations, though, and am wary of many things my AI friend says – with good reason. It once gave me bogus information on Humphrey Bogart when I was researching a column. Good thing I knew more than it did.
