Where are the dinosaurs

As a child dinosaurs came into vogue. Toy dinosaur
sets were sold from the Sears and Roebuck Christmas
catalogues. The Peabody Museum, a part of Harvard
University, produced a set of drawings depicting life
during the Jurassic period and earlier. One could look
at the realistic paintings and visualize what it
would be like to live millions of years before
man’s dirty little footprints trod the planet.
Books to inspire the imagination were
produced. Roy Chapman Andrews from the
American Museum of Natural History penned
the book “All About Dinosaurs” and gave life to
the giants of the past. I received my copy while
in the third grade. It is rumored that Andrews
would later be the image used by Spielberg for
the iconic Indiana Jones.
