America has been going to war for 250
years. When Johnny marches off at the plea
of a needy nation he is accorded all the accolades
deserved of a volunteer going to war.
With only one exception, that same
veteran is welcomed home with all
the gratitude a nation can heap on
the men and women that gave up a
slice of their lives so that freedom
can remain alive around the globe.
Time has a propensity to blur
the images from the past and we
have a tendency to forget sacrifices
from those that volunteered for all
of us. The memory of a past event is
with us but the celebration seems to die as
time goes by. We are about to celebrate and
thank those that put on the uniform and
climbed the hill; those that gladly served
our great nation.
