As I recall, I haven’t exactly censured myself for doing these things, but perhaps I should have. It’s hard to say because in today’s world that seems obsessed with productivity, the concept of “doing nothing” has become oddly complicated.
Of course, I’m not talking about sitting in a yoga pose contemplating the mysteries of life or intentionally unplugging for a mindfulness retreat. Those are different things entirely – although some people don’t agree with that assessment.
So, really, what does “nothing” actually mean? Let’s just look at my own life as an example.
