In loving memory of a man whose presence was a beacon of strength and wisdom, Thomas Larkin Bayles peacefully departed this earthly realm on August 12, 2024. He was born in the serene town of Farmerville, LA, one of 7 siblings, on August 3, 1933, to Gertie Williamson Bayles and Thomas Jefferson Bayles. Thomas was a devoted husband to Louise Bayles, and a loving father to his daughters, Sharon Broadhead, Debbie Myers, and Donna Bayles, and Pappa to 8 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren.
Thomas was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He faithfully served the church and its community throughout his life. He served as a Temple worker in the Dallas Temple and served as a Bishop of a local congregation.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in hand, Thomas carved his path in the realm of Oil and Gas, working for United Gas Pipeline, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. His dedication and passion for his work inspired many and his legacy will endure through the lives he touched.
Thomas was passionate about connecting families through genealogy work. He spent many hours and years in pursuit of this pastime. He was also an avid fan of the Houston Astros, and he loved his New Orleans Saints.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife Louise Bayles, daughters, Sharon Broadhead and husband Kent, Debbie Myers and husband Tom, and Donna Bayles. Also left to treasure his memory and carry on his amazing legacy are grandchildren; Richard Broadhead and wife Allison, Julie Conlin and husband Bo, Craig Broadhead and wife Cyndi, Brent Broadhead and wife Ranae, Rob Broadhead, Robert Myers and wife Anne-Marie, Amy Edwards, and Kenneth Myers, and 25 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Gertie and Thomas Bayles, and his siblings and their spouses, Lila Hansen and Husband Vernon, Gene Bayles, Opal Bayles and wife Madie, Wayne Bayles and wife Minnie, Bobby Bayles, Peggy Bayles and husband Bubba.
Friends and family are invited to honor Thomas’s life at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Visitation will begin on August 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00 pm. The burial will follow the service at Enoch Cemetery.
In celebration of Thomas’s remarkable life, let us come together to pay our respects and bid farewell to a man whose legacy will endure through the memories and lives he touched.
