Do you ever reflect on the past and say to yourself,
“where has all the time gone”. We seem to say it more
frequently as we age and the distance of time in the past
we reflect on seems to be longer and longer. Though the
years go by, certain events never age and remain fresh in
our minds. One such point in time happened
thirty-five years ago and it remains fresh in my
mind.
The end of July, 1990 and I was returning to
Saudi Arabia for another six months of work. I
had my emotional goodbye at the Shreveport
airport and settled into my seat for the flight to
New York, thev on to London and the final leg
to Saudi Arabia. As luck would have it I missed
my flight in London so I spent a night at the
hotel in Heathrow. No panic, no worry, just an
extra day of travel.
