Over the past few weeks we have taken a
look at different aspects of life in Judea just
prior to the birth of Jesus. Though we have a
sterilized view of the time of his birth it was
anything but. A ninety mile walk for
a young pregnant female was an arduous
experience. The trip displays
the discomfort that would take place
for Christians but the birth of Jesus
displays that the promise for a new
life would take place. It is time that
we pull all the pieces together and
take a look at the story of the birth
of Christ.
The story of the birth of Jesus is
one of the most wellknown and meaningful
stories in the world. It is told mainly in
the Gospels of Matthew and Luke in the
Bible. People celebrate this story because
it teaches lessons about faith, courage, and
how hope can appear in unexpected places.
More than just a historical event, the Nativity
shows how God connects with ordinary
people and brings light into the world.
