Syble Thomas, 88 years old of Spearsville, Louisiana died January 19, 2024 after a brief illness. The daughter of James and Verna Williams was born August 22, 1935. She was an active long-time member of Canaan Baptist Church where she served as treasurer, custodian, and for many years as grounds-keeper. After retirement, she continued to work part-time as the meal-site coordinator for the Spearsville Senior Center. She truly had a servant’s heart. Numerous individuals in her community and church association were touched by her selfless caring actions and deeds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Donnie and Odie Williams and husband Travis Thomas. Survivors include son Nicky Thomas (Stephanie) of Moro Bay, AR; daughters Patricia Harrison (Dwayne) of Waunakee, WI and Kelly Methvin (Richard) of Minden, LA; and son Bradford Thomas (Leslie) of Farmerville, LA; grandchildren – Derrick Thomas (Elizabeth), Darby Lawless (Kevin), Dannon Thomas (Taylor), Sierra Inness (Colton Foster); Alisha Turner (Jake), Cori Heise (Chris), Ben Harrison (Leanne); Aaron Methvin, Nathaniel Methvin; Heather Jones, Magain Middleton, Brendan Thomas, Dawson Daniel; 16 great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews; sister JoAnn Black, brother Lamon Williams; sisters Janelle Murphy and Peggy Williams.

Visitation will be held at Canaan Baptist Church on Friday January 26, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
Funeral services will be held at Canaan Baptist Church on Saturday January 27, 2024 at 2:00pm and burial in Canaan Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.
