Last Saturday, Claiborne Electric Cooperative held its annual
meeting and election for the District 2, Board of Directors seat. Voting
was across all members serviced by Claiborne, since all members
now vote on each director, regardless of the district seat being
voted on each year.
In the largest voting turnout ever by the members of the cooperative,
Willie T. Sensley, Jr., “Butch,” was re-elected by the largest
margin ever cast in a contested election, garnering some 65 per cent
of the votes cast.
Mr. Sensley was first elected to the Claiborne Board in 2016 and
has served three, three-year terms.
