Funeral Services for Rosemary H. Thurston, 85, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., June 1, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Danny Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Linville, LA.
Rosemary was born May 18, 1938, in Farmerville, LA, to Gladen and Exa Hearn and passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She held various jobs including substitute teaching in her lifetime. But she was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her sons. She was a member of North 5th street Church of Christ in West Monroe for many years, her church family was very dear to her heart. She was an enthusiastic sports fan but was mostly known for her love of baseball.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband, James W. (Snapper) Thurston; parents, Gladen and Exa Hearn; and sister, Betty Ann Hearn.
Survivors include her brother, Gladen (Doc) Hearn and wife, Sally; sons, Jay Thurston and wife, Sandi, Bill Thurston and wife, Kaye, Hank Thurston and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Launa Liggin, Kent Thurston (Evan), Chelsea McPherson (Chase) , Ben Littleton (Lauren), Josh Littleton (Cara), and Blake Littleton (Sydney); great grandchildren, Kamryn Liggin, Carson Liggin, Celie Allen, James Thurston, Mollie Thurston, Charlee Allen, Aubrey Littleton, Tucker McPherson, Rhett McPherson, and future granddaughter Hazel Lane Littleton; special niece, Cindy Brantley and husband, Virgil known as “the best man in Union Parish” by Rosemary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chase McPherson, Ben Littleton, Josh Littleton, Blake Littleton, Ricky Cody, Jim Wills, Johnny Drake, and Virgil Brantley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kent Thurston, Carson Liggin, James Thurston, Tucker McPherson, and Rhett McPherson.
Memorials may be made to North 5th Street Church of Christ in West Monroe and St. Judes in her memory.
