Pedestrian Killed in Ouachita Parish Crash

Sterlington – On Monday, March 31, 2025,
shortly after 9:00 p.m., Troopers with Louisiana
State Police Troop F began investigating a crash
involving a pedestrian on Louisiana Highway 143
near Jaried Road. The crash claimed the life of
69-year-old Rhonda Harvey of Springhill.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a
2009 GMC Sierra was driving north in the right
northbound lane of Louisiana Highway 143. At the
same time, Harvey, who was wearing dark clothing,
was walking in the right northbound lane of
Louisiana Highway 143. For reasons still under investigation,
Harvey was struck by the GMC.
