Peacemakers in the Buddhist World: Cultivating Harmony from Within
On a beautiful clear morning on December 7th, 1941 one hundred and eighty-three pilots climbed into their aircraft and took off into infamy. With ships turned into the wind these pilots navigated their aircraft toward the naval and army bases on the island of Hawaii and the rest of the day is steeped in history. The religion of the Japanese pilots was Buddhist and following the attack on Pearl Harbor many would think that the religion is one of war and destruction. In fact nothing could be further from the truth as religion and political desires often come into conflict with each other.
