On June 12th, late into the night, shots rang out in the town of Farmerville. An ongoing investigation is underway in the shooting of multiple individuals in a drive-by committed on Tuesday night. The Farmerville Police Department is asking the public to avoid Hickory St. near Sensley’s Townhouses in response to the incident.
The Farmerville Police Department and the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple shots fired in the area that night. Multiple victims have been reported, but as this case is ongoing, there have yet to be any officially reported casualties.
All surrounding roads through the area have been shut down for the investigation, and a suspect has yet to be named officially. No arrests have been made at this time and, due to a lack of publicly released information, there is no further information to be divulged from the incident at this time.
The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office has acquired jurisdiction over this crime, and the Farmerville Police Department is no longer the primary investigator. It is unclear when, or whether, details will be revealed to the public, or the press.

Until proper information is given regarding the crime, The Gazette can not, and will not, speculate on the specifics of this crime. To the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office, we extend our sincerest hope that these criminals are brought to justice in a timely manner.
