Legacy tile project ends soon at Union Museum
Union Museum of History and Art-Discovery Place will soon complete its Legacy Tile fundraising project, which enables donors to have engraved tiles installed on the museum’s permanent Wall of Gratitude. Smooth stone tiles are available until August 15 for tax-deductible donations of $750, $2000, or $5000. For complete information, call 318-982-8020.

“These legacy tiles are wonderful ways for individuals, families, organizations, and churches to honor loved ones or to convey a meaningful message that will endure long into the future,” says Jean Jones, project director. “Logos and other selected images can be engraved onto the tiles, as well.”

This project is part of the museum’s capital campaign to raise funds needed to purchase the building in now occupies at 211 N. Main St., Farmerville

Quilting class slated in Union Museum June 15
Saturday, June 15
An “Introduction to Quilting” class will be held on Saturday, June 15, in the Union Museum of History and Art-Discovery Place, 211 N. Main Street, Farmerville. The workshop, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be led by veteran quilter Karen Bradford. The $15 fee will include lunch. This class is part of the museum’s ongoing Folkcrafts series designed to keep alive useful oldtime skills. Pre-registration for the class is required by calling 318-982-8020 or emailing unionmuseum@gmail.com. Class size will be limited.
