William Carl Lemoine passed away November 14, 2023 at the age of 72 at Union General Hospital in Farmerville, where he was taken while experiencing what he thought was “just another one”. After suffering a massive heart attack, he turned to his favorite daughter and said “I’m tired”. He had dealt with heart attacks and strokes since the age of 38. After his proclamation, he soon took his last breath and was reunited with friends and family waiting on his arrival in Heaven. He was born on September 19, 1951. Although being a native son of Union Parish, he actually started school in Canada due to the family following his father on the pipeline. He spent the remainder of his school years attending Farmerville and Marion thanks to growing up around Conway. Like many young men at the time, he served in the Army National Guard in the early 70’s. Carl, as he was known, worked in the timber industry before becoming a “chicken rancher” under the ConAgra and Pilgrim’s Pride eras. He spent many years tending to his four chicken houses in Oakland before focusing on cattle near his home just outside of Marion. He spent some years of his later life much like the first years following the pipeline in the gas fields. During his retirement, he spent his time working on his old Ford pickup, spending time with the grandkids, and visiting with family and friends across North Eastern Union Parish. Carl was a pillar of the community and didn’t meet a stranger…for long. As a proud follower of Jesus Christ, he spent much of his time on the rigs witnessing and giving out Bibles to anyone who’d listen. He was a member and deacon of Meridian Baptist Church. Though his time here on Earth wasn’t as long as we wanted, it was definitely lived. To those who knew him, there was only one. To those who didn’t know him, apparently never walked within speaking distance of him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. and Inez McDougle Lemoine Till; brothers, Carroll Lemoine, Clyde Redl, and James Lemoine; nephew, Chris Boudreau; niece, Rebekah Hensarling; brothers-in- law, Gary Hensarling and Rob Allen; mother-in-law, Jane T. Allen; grandparents, Jim McDougle and Ellen and Bill Hammons; uncle, John Allen McDougle; and aunts, Daphne “Mama Chunk” McDougle and Zelphia Mae Johnson. Carl is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen Allen Lemoine; children, Robert (Summer) Lemoine, Billy (Aliscia) Lemoine, Kassie (Aaron) Booker, and Jacob Lemoine; grandchildren, Alex Lemoine, Colby Neitz, Makinsey Story, Zoë Booker, Paul Lemoine, Zane Booker, Jasper Lemoine, Tucker Lemoine, Kinsley Lemoine, and Paisley Lemoine; uncle, Otis McDougle; sisters, JoAnn (Ronnie) Hagan and Cathline Boudreau; brother, Wayne Lemoine; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Serving as pallbearers were Nathan Futch, Danny Cain, Alex Lemoine, Stacy Gates, Zane Booker, and Ronnie Hagan.
