Louisiana voted “Top Dog”

In a recent study conducted by Showsight Magazine canine experts, a test was devised to see how each of the state dogs competed against each other based on the golden ratio of facial proportions to scientifically devise which breed was the most beautiful. After careful analysis of each of the state’s dog breeds, it was determined that the state dog of Louisiana, the Catahoula Leopard Dog, was the most scientifically beautiful state dog breed! The Catahoula Leopard Dog scored a 100% perfect golden ratio score of exactly 1.62 on the experts’ scale.
The Catahoula Leopard Dog was first bred in Louisiana for hunting game and herding livestock, and it has been treasured in the bayou state as our official state dog breed since 1979.
Several other dog breeds scored close to the golden ratio, but none shone as brightly as the Louisiana
