John David Stansbury

John David Stansbury, 71, was born on November 29, 1952 and passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024 at his home in Farmerville, Louisiana.  A gathering for friends and family will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, Louisiana.

David was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Neda Stansbury; and daughter, Maria Stansbury.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, John F. Stansbury (Donna); grandchildren, John Russell Stansbury (Amber) and John Randall Stansbury (Julianna); and his loving partner of 24 years, Phyllis Odom.

David (Captain Zork) was a retired truck driver, after driving thousands of miles cross country and locally.  He was an excellent welder, and a musician who could play almost anything with strings.  He loved music.  He was a loving father who loved his family, quiet evenings on the porch with Phyllis and his pups, and watching Gunsmoke.  He loved working his land with his tractor. David was also a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
