Randy was born on April 2, 1949 in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on January 24, 2024 in Farmerville, Louisiana after a lengthy illness.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Frank, Jr. and Dorothy Meeks and a brother, Johnnie W. Meeks.
He is survived by daughter, Shelley Hollis (Richard); sons, Shane Meeks (Ann) and Carson Gray; significant other, Toni Gray; three grandchildren, Tristen Hollis, Makaela Hollis, and Carter Gray; one great grandchild, Bransyn Stringfellow; sisters, June Brantley (Terry), Vicki Dodd (Lavelle), Charolette Day; brother, Kevin Meeks (Dawn); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Randy was always a strong person from the time he was a small child up until the end of his life. He never let his handicap stop him. If there was a way for him to do it, he was going to get it done. Randy also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. Coaching baseball was one of his greatest passions, from coaching his baby brother to coaching all three of his kids, plus many others over the years. Randy had many professions throughout his life including welding, pipeline worker, business owner, and auto body repair.
Randy was always a loving father, brother and friend and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank Dr. Islam and his staff for taking care of Randy for many years. Thank you to St. Francis Hospital, Arbor Lake, Allegiance Hospice Care, and his hospice nurse, Sonya Gray, in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
