Fleming visits chamber, talks senate race 

 FARMERVILLE, La. — Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming, a candidate for the United States Senate, visited Union Parish on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, and addressed the Union Parish Chamber of Commerce luncheon, where he spoke with local business and community leaders about his background, his campaign and several issues he said are important to the future of Louisiana. 

Fleming currently serves as Louisiana’s state treasurer. A physician, businessman and military veteran, he was elected on Nov. 18, 2023, and sworn into office on Jan. 8, 2024. Before that, he represented Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017, where he was known as a conservative leader and as one of the founders of the House Freedom Caucus.
