Finding frugality in the fast lane of life

Halloween and October may be over, but
I’m still haunted – not by ghosts, but by the
price of candy these days. When a bag of
fun-size chocolates costs nearly as much as
a full tank of gas, it’s enough to make
even a sweet tooth think twice. (OK,
I admit: That’s hyperbole, but not by
much.)
So that got me pondering what
I like to call “creative economies”
– those oddball ways we convince
ourselves we’re saving money. They
might not pass an accountant’s inspection,
but they certainly make us
feel clever.
