Farmerville drive-by shooter arrested

In June 2024, a shooting took place in the middle of Farmerville
on Miller St. and North Main St in front of the Sonic Drive in. Nearly
one year later, on May 1st, 2025, 18-year-old Jakiron Tywon Mc-
Guire of Ruston LA would be arrested for an outstanding warrant
in Oklahoma, and would soon later be found in connection to the
shooting in Farmerville, Louisiana.
According to the UPSO, the targeted shooting, which started on
Miller St. and would end on North Main St. in front of the Sonic
Drive in, involved a white SUV being struck by gunfire while being
pursued by another vehicle. The victim’s SUV crashed, and would
be found to have been struck by 14 bullet strikes, including the front
and rear window. Casings would also be found from .233 caliber
and 9mm firearms at the scene.
