Do you believe that the Resurrection
Sunday we just celebrated (Easter Sunday)
is a celebration of a real event?
That Jesus was truly risen from the
tomb… and lives today? Christians answer
    those questions with a resounding
    YES!
Were you overjoyed – filled with thankfulness
    – happy the Jesus was sent to us
to be our Blessed Savior? Jesus wants us
    to be happy, you know.
    Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 “I perceived that
there is nothing better for them than to
be joyful and to do good as long as they
live; and also that every man should eat
and drink and enjoy the good of all his
labor – it is the gift of God.”
    Pilippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always;
    again I will say, rejoice.”
Isaiah 12:6 “Shout, and sing for joy…
for great in your midst is the Holy One
    of Israel.”
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
so that by the power of the Holy
Spirit you may abound in hope.”
    Isaiah 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation;
    I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my
song, and he has become my salvation.”
My song and my salvation? What very
GOOD NEWS is that? Glorious happy
praise songs to Christ Jesus who did indeed
    come to offer us salvation.
A Prayer for Happiness: Lord, I long
to know and experience happiness in
my life. I’m not talking about shallow
pleasures. Those come and go, and the
wrong kind leave us empty and unfulfilled.
The happiness I desire is so much
more than skin deep. It’s bigger than
my circumstances and larger than my
emotions. I want the kind of happiness
that trusts you, obeys you, and follows
you regardless of where that path leads.
    Amen
“Do not let your happiness depend on
something you may lose… only (upon)
the Beloved who will never pass away.”

Our Scripture today is I Corinthians
15:1-19. The Apostle Paul is teaching
that if there is no empty tomb, then we
have nothing. Our salvation is found in
the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
Paul’s focus is in response to some in
Corinth who were saying there is no resurrection
of the dead. Paul knew without
a doubt the absolute truth of the resurrection
    of Jesus.
In verses 4-8, he lists people who had,
like himself, personally seen the risen
    Jesus.
To him, unbelief was preposterous. He
declares in verse 17 that if Christ has not
been raised, then our faith is worthless,
and we are still dead in our sins.
We can be confident that our faith is not
worthless, that our eternity is sealed and
secured. We can celebrate with certainty
that Jesus lives, and here is why…
The entire Bible teaches and upholds the
resurrection of Jesus. There are 396 references
to His resurrection in the New
Testament, and the Old Testament is
filled with references to the coming resurrection.
Before His death, Jesus prophesied His
death and resurrection on the third day.
After the crucifixion, we have the recorded
accounts in the Bible of numerous
people who witnessed the risen Jesus.
The Bible is considered the most accurate
    ancient manuscript in the entire
world. No other work comes close, in
age or accuracy. It stands alone in comparison
    to all other historical works.
    Many other ancient writers, including
those not associated with the Christian
faith, document the testimony of eyewitnesses
    of the risen Lord.
Even greater than the recorded words
of various writers was the evidence displayed
in the lives of those early Christians
    who believed and witnessed that
Jesus lives. They were changed. Their
commitment to Christ and their faith often
led them to give up everything, even
    their very lives!
    Additionally, every Disciple except John
gave up his life defending the truth of the
risen Lord Jesus, and John died an old
man, imprisoned for his faith in a lonely
cell on the isle of Patmos.
People do not die for a lie. People die because
they are convinced beyond a shadow
of a doubt that what they say is truth.
Jesus died and rose again so that we may
live eternally with Him. “For the wages
of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
    ~ Romans 6:23 KJV
    Our celebration of Resurrection Sunday
is about the victory over sin offered to
all who believe. How blessed we are! “…
blessed are they that have not seen, and
yet have believed.” ~ John 20:29. KJV

Praying that everyone had a glorious
    Resurrection Sunday! Special in songs
were: “The World’s Greatest Story” sang
by Gus and Melissa; and “You’ll Stop
    Searching” sang by Bro. Bill.
The text was from Matthew 28. Verse
6 tells us: “He is not here: for he is
risen, as he said. Come, see the place
where the Lord lay.” Hallelujah, Jesus
arose! The grave clothes were neatly
folded indicating He would return. He
is coming back. The rays of light from
the empty tomb indicated: 1. Cancelled
sin: We can be saved from the wrath of
God. Jesus paid our sin debt. Repentance
means change. Romans 5:10 tells us that
we were reconciled to God through the
death of His Son. 2. Fullness of joy: We
can be exceedingly happy. Psalms 16:11
tells us that in His presence is fullness of
joy. 3. Eternal life: life in the presence of
God. (Death is the separation from God.)
John 11:25 tells us that he that believeth
on Jesus, though he die, yet shall he live.
  2. Reunion beyond the grave: Matthew
8:11 tells us that we shall be with the
saints of old in the kingdom of heaven.
  3. Peace with God: Romans 5:1 tells us
that we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ.6. Faith not in vain:
In 1 Corinthians 15:17 it tells us that
if Christ hath not been raised, our faith
would be in vain and we would still be in
    our sins. Hallelujah, He arose!
We will be hosting Mt. Calvary Fellowship
    Meeting on April 27 at 5:00 p.m.
We invite all churches in the association
to come be with us for singing and
fellowship, and of course, there will be
food. We have such a wonderful time
    fellowshipping with our brothers and
    sisters in Christ.

    Associate Pastor Stephen Murry
First Peter 1:3-5 – Blessed be the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
according to His abundant mercy has begotten
us again to a living hope through
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
    dead …
Christ died on the cross for our sins. It
depends on us, what that will mean to us
    individually.
We can find hope when things are not
going well for ‘me’, my marriage, children,
    grandchildren? Hope is anticipating
    with confidence, that as Christians,
when our love ones are gone, we will
see them in Heaven, if they too have
given their heart to Christ. Though it is
hard, we must release them Christ. We
can have hope, even in the worries of
this life. We know not what tomorrow
may hold. Jesus said, And I will pray
the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that HE may abide with
you forever – John 14:16. Hope can be
found in doubt – when we do not feel
the presence of Christ, as we once did.
    Maybe even questioning one’s salvation.
We can have hope, even if we have denied
Him in the way we have lived. Peter
denied Jesus 3 times, and after the resurrection
Jesus challenged Peter 3 times to
feed his sheep. After Peter’s repentance,
Jesus reinstated him as the leader of the
    disciples.
Do you have a sin, that has crept back
into your life? God is a merciful God, a
God of second chances. Our sins were
atoned for over 2000 years ago. Bring
all your burdens to the LORD. Without
Him, we have NO HOPE. Because Jesus
    lives, there is HOPE!
