Question: What has been the happiest day of your life? Your birthday… your first prom… your wedding day… the birth of your children? Those are instinctive answers; easy on the tongue – “top-of-mind” as we hear spoken nowadays. Maybe we should slow down and breathe… slow down with our answers. Maybe our happiest day should be said to be the day we gave ourselves to Jesus, the day we were baptized… the day we were saved by grace. And by extension, the day our friends and family came to Jesus.
1 John 4:19 “We love because He first loved us”. This verse emphasizes the idea that our ability to love originates from God’s love for us. Also, written in the KJV as: “We love Him, because He first loved us”. God loved us soooo much that He sent His “only begotten son” to save our souls — to assure us of an everlasting life if we but trust God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
The season of Lent is drawing to a close; the call to repentance and forgiveness. The opportunity to turn back to/or draw closer to God is upon us. We are called by Jesus to love one another. John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” emphasizes that love is the defining mark of Jesus’ followers.
We are, also, commanded to tell all we meet of the Good News of Salvation through Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The Bible allows us, through the ages and in the different scenarios of Moses, Noah and Elijah; to see how God prepares them and us for greater things to come. Moses, Noah, Elijah all endured 40 days of hardship, patience, temptation, etc… Each man; on the 41st day emerged from their ordeals wiser, stronger, more faithful.
The Greatest “thing” to come was Jesus’ 40 days on earth after His crucifixion! The next day… THAT “41st day” should be the very best day of our lives – the day Jesus ascended to Heaven and left us with Holy-Spirited disciples turned apostles to tell and spread His Good News!
Oh, Happy Day! “Best-Day- Ever!”
Happy Easter to ALL -– He IS Risen!

A Day of Remembrance – II Corinthians 5:21
This is Holy Week, the celebration of the last week of Jesus’ life – Palm Sunday, the Last Supper on Thursday, the Crucifixion on Friday, and the Resurrection the following Sunday.
At this time of year, Christians celebrate the atoning work of Jesus on the cross for our sins and the salvation afforded us by His sacrifice.
The goal of mere religion is to modify behaviors, lifestyles, habits, and ideals to fit into a particular system.
But Christianity is different! The difference between Christianity and Religion is NOT found in modified behavior.
People can modify their behavior, but ONLY GOD can change their hearts.
Christianity does call us to certain standards, practices, and behaviors, but the process is different. Christian behavior is the result of the work of God in a person to change his heart.
In verse 21, we see that our redemption, our salvation, is initiated by God. It is absolutely a working of God, and it was completely accomplished on the Cross.

Pastor Bubba Hoggatt Jessie brought our special music today, “Lord of Crestion”. We began our worship service by celebrating the Lords supper. Bro. Bubba’s message was “Believer or Betrayer”. Matthew 26:20-25.
Jesus was sitting with the 12 eating the passover meal. Jesus announced that one of them would betray him. The 11 became sorrowful and questioned Jesus,
“Lord is it I?” J e s u s was looking into the heart of each one. He looks into the heart of each one of us. He knows all our motives, and if we are truly saved, Judas had been with Jesus for three years, but was not truly saved. We each must examine ourselves and be sure that we have truly made Jesus Lord of our lives. Our good deeds, no matter how many they are, will not save us. Works equal pride, Listen to the eternal weight of Jesus‘s statement. Jesus said “ Woe unto that Man.” Judas’ covetesness is the cause of his betrayal. We need to examine ourselves and know for sure on what we base our salvation. The devil is the master of deception. Salvation is based on the shed blood of Jesus Christ, nothing else !

Luke 23:33: And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him… Who put Jesus on the cross? Historically Responsible: the crowds who cried “Crucify Him”; a morbid multitude of people often want others to suffer. The ones who led Him away. Religious Leaders demanded Jesus’ death; Ruler, since Pilate had the legal authority; the ones who drove the nails and thrust the spear in His side. Soldiers, who delivered Christ to His death.
Universally Responsible: Those who were not there – Every man, woman and child, who has ever lived … Even “You”! Christ died a ‘sacrificial death’, for we are twisted by our sin nature. HE was wounded for our transgressions, HE was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed – Isaiah 53:5. “I should have been crucified. I should have suffered and died. I should have hung on the cross in disgrace, But Christ Jesus Took My Place.”
GOD Was Responsible: Jesus left the Glory of Heaven to fight for us on the cross. Our Heavenly Father knew, what it would take to save us from our sins. HE loves us that much – For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave His only Begotten Son, that Whosoever believes in Him, will not perish but have Everlasting Life – John 3:16. HE was the only way we could be redeemed from our sins.
What will “You” do with Christ Jesus, when HE has done so much for “You”? Will you give your life to Him? And then, will you serve Him?
