Rev. Hank Hamilton
Christian Worship Artist/
speed painter, Vanessa
Horabuena (vanessahorabuena.
com) had a
rough start in life, but gave
her life to Jesus when she
was 13. Life got in the way
and she encountered human
trials and troubles during
the next few years. At
age 17, God put good stable
Christian people back
into her life. These people
helped her grow in her relationship
with Jesus, but she
hit another of life’s rough
patches – hit her “rock bottom”
at age 19. It was then
that she knew she needed
more than good friends to
find her way back to Christ.
“Like many of you, my
story is not perfect and is
riddled with ups and downs
and twists and turns. But
through it all, the Lord remained
steadfast by my
side.” She found earthly
help from Dr. Allan Mc-
Cray, Senior Pastor at her
church… “I was terrified as
I sat before him and expected
him to drop the hammer
as I shared my struggles,
my past and my failures.
But sitting across from him
was different. It was the
first time I came to understand
God’s grace and compassion.
Dr. McCray sat
across from me with a father’s
soft eyes and helped
me to understand where
things were coming from
and why I was struggling;
and that it is ok to need
to heal. No list of to do’s
came from this meeting, no
shaming, no expectation,
no judgement and I left
feeling a thousand pounds
lighter.”
She remembered words
Dr. McCray had said about
our destinies being tied
to our passion… hers was
drawing. And when she
told him that she felt like
drawing (painting) again
after her lost years, he said
to her; (remember) “When
you sit down to paint, know
that it is God’s work flowing
through you.” Ms.
Horabuena thought on this
and prayed on this. She
said that the Lord spoke to
her and said; “I want you to
worship me like you were
a kid again, without a care
in the world, I want you to
dance freely before me.”
And so she did; not worrying
about her past, about
what people would say…
only working on her worship
paintings.
She says; “from my own
pain and suffering I found
healing, I found growth,
and I began expressing
myself through art. I give
all the glory to God for my
healing. I am blessed to be
called to use my inherent
creative abilities to honor
and praise God. God is using
me and my art to lead
people to Christ in a unique
way.” — A modern-day
disciple spreading God’s
messages through paintings
to the whole of the world.
Mark 16:15 “Go into all
the world and preach the
gospel to every creature.”

Today we begin a new
study series Paul’s second
letter to the Christians at the
church of Corinth and the
surrounding area (II Corinthians).
Paul immediately
addresses their struggle.
Life for these people wasn’t
merely busy or stressful.
Life was downright dangerous
for these first century
believers.
About a year has passed
since Paul penned 1st Corinthians,
a letter that addressed
many problems in
the church. It contained a
lot of corrections and doctrinal
teaching. This time,
Paul isn’t having to deal
with a lot of that. For the
most part, this is a letter of
encouragement.
For believers, the best encouragement
begins with
remembering Who God is.
Paul begins by saying he is
not writing on his own accord,
but on behalf of God.
Paul’s life had been
changed by an encounter
with the Risen Jesus from a
persecutor of Christians to
a gospel proclaimer, all by
the will of God. If you are
saved, it is by the will and
design of God; as believers,
our identity is in the Lord
Jesus Christ.
In verse 2, Paul tells us that
because of our identity, we
experience both grace and
peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ.
They are both actively involved
personally in our
lives.
Paul then blesses God, the
Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, and also our God
and Father, as the Father
of mercies and the God of
comfort. He has made us
heirs with Christ as His
children.
Today, whatever is going
on in your life, whatever
the struggle, turn your focus
back onto God. Have
faith in your heavenly Father.
Seek His comfort and
solace. He somehow works
everything to the good of
those that love him, the ones
who are called, according
to His divine purpose. How
blessed we are to be considered
His children!

Pastor Bubba Hoggatt
Our special music today
was brought by Jesse ,“All
Because of Mercy”. B r o
Bubba’s message today
was, “Resentment or
Contentment”. Christians
should have no fear
of dying. Our sin debt has
been
paid. We will spend eternity
with Him. We were born
enemies of God. Jesus took
upon himself all the sins of
the world. He could do this
because He was sinless. He
died to reconcile us to God.
God sees us as righteous.
People are in Hell today
whose sins have been forgiven.
They just rejected
the gift of salvation. There
is nothing wrong with celebrating
our excitement for
the goodness of God. II
Corinthians 5:13. I John
5:18, tells us that we can
know we have eternal life
with Him. Satan will try to
make us doubt our salvation.
How are we living our
Christian life? Are we just
treading water or changing
the world? We have been
commissioned to be ambassadors
of Christ. He is
counting on us to spread
the good news. Look for
opportunities in our every
day conversations. We are
to pray for others. Are we
being trustworthy as his
ambassadors? The annual
church picnic will be
this Sunday evening at
the Franklins camp on the
Ouachita River. All are invited.

Associate Pastor Stephen
Murry
Mark 2:1-12: What is life’s
greatest work … bringing
someone to Christ Jesus.
Mark 2:5 – When Jesus
saw their faith, He said to
the paralytic, “Son, your
sins are forgiven you.”
The man’s greatest need
was Christ. ‘Moral’ paralytics
will never come to
the LORD, unless someone
brings them.
A great crowd kept his
friends from bringing him
into the house. Often the
‘crowd’ is more concerned
with their seats than with
souls needing Christ. The
most important part of
any service is the ‘Invitation’,
when the Holy Spirit
speaks and people respond.
By being a ‘stepping stone’,
we make sure Christian and
non-Christians alike, know
they matter. The greatest
hinderance is cold, calloused
church members,
looking for something or
someone to criticize. One
can always find, what they
seek.
In order to be more effective,
we should show
we care for those without
Christ. It takes more than
one to reach out to others
for Him, compelling them
to join in worship. Often
we do not witness, because
we are afraid. God wants
to use us to bring others
to Him. HE is faithful and
will be with us each step of
the way. God can use anyone
who is committed to
reach others for Christ. Are
the ‘lost’ worth the cost?
Christ stopped His message
to speak to ’1’! Likewise,
I say to you, there is joy in
the presence of the angels
of God over one sinner who
repents – Luke 15:10. Jesus
paid the ‘price’; thus, Heaven
is excited when each lost
sinner comes to Christ. Our
part is to reach others for
Him. Time is running out!
