Rev. Hank Hamilton
Actress Helen Mirren once
said:
“Before you argue with
someone, ask yourself, is
that person even mentally
mature enough to grasp
the concept of a different
perspective. Because if not,
there’s absolutely no point.
Not every argument is
worth your energy. Sometimes,
no matter how clearly
you express yourself, the
other person isn’t listening
to understand—they’re listening
to react.
They’re stuck in their own
perspective, unwilling to
consider another viewpoint,
and engaging with them
only drains you.
There’s a difference between
a healthy discussion
and a pointless debate.
A conversation with someone
who is open-minded,
who values growth and understanding,
can be enlightening—
even if you don’t
agree. But trying to reason
with someone who refuses
to see beyond their own beliefs?
That’s like talking to
a wall. No matter how much
logic or truth you present,
they will twist, deflect, or
dismiss your words, not
because you’re wrong, but
because they’re unwilling
to see another side.
Maturity isn’t about who
wins an argument—it’s
about knowing when an
argument isn’t worth having.
It’s realizing that your
peace is more valuable
than proving a point to
someone who has already
decided they won’t change
their mind. Not every battle
needs to be fought. Not
every person deserves your
explanation.
Sometimes, the strongest
thing you can do is walk
away—not because you
have nothing to say, but
because you recognize that
some people aren’t ready to
listen. And that’s not your
burden to carry. (2022)
Do you think maybe that
this quote fits today’s world
‘environment’? Let’s not
“argue” with each other
– Let’s do what Jesus did
… teach and preach if given
an open door to do so.
Let’s also seek enlightenment,
fulfilment and peace.
Where’s the best place to
find peace and contentment?
Christ Jesus!
John 14:27 “Peace I leave
with you; My peace I give
to you. Not as the world
gives you do I give you.
Let not your hearts be troubled,
neither let them be
afraid.”
Philippians 4:7 “And the
peace of God, which surpasses
all understanding,
will guard your hearts and
your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 12:18 “If possible,
so far as it depends
on you, live peaceably
with all.” Ephesians 6:12
“ For our struggle is not
against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers,
against the authorities,
against the powers of this
dark world and against the
spiritual forces of evil…”
These verses are meant to
encourage you and provide
hope when facing the
worries and fears of the
world…
Matthew 5:9 ~ Blessed are
the peacemakers, for they
shall be called sons of God.
Colossians 3:15 ~ And let
the peace of Christ rule in
your hearts, to which indeed
you were called in one
body. And be thankful.

Pastor Bubba Hoggatt
What a special day we had
today! Bro. Bubba opened
our service with a meaningful
rededication responsive
reading and prayer. Our
homecoming today celebrates
135 years that our
church has been proclaiming
the gospel. The Sanctuary
Choir performed a very
inspiring and enjoyable
concert. Bro. Marty Black
brought our message. His
topic was about the legacy
we will leave behind. How
will we be remembered?
Hebrews.12: 1-2. He began
by sharing his memories of
those who had mentored
him and had a great influence
on his life. When leaving
a positive legacy, we
must identify whom we are
running for, Christ or self.
Will the legacy we leave
be one of honoring God or
ourselves? Does our life
show that our saving faith
is in Jesus Christ? Any other
is in vain. T h e
church picnic will be October
19 at Wes and April’s
camp on the Ouachita River.
A tentative date for the
fall missions festival is November2nd.

Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I
stand at the door and knock
… There are many churches
Christ is trying to get
into today. Revelation 3:15
– I know your works, that
you are neither cold nor hot
…you are lukewarm. Enthusiasm
in the church has
waned; there is no ‘fire’ for
God. Jesus Christ wants His
church to be on ‘fire’ all the
time, actively serving Him.
When we come to church,
let us come praising Him,
for HE is worthy of our
Praise. Let us be open to
the teaching of His Word,
thankful for this special
time with Him. Let us be
willing to hear the Word
as it is preached and then
act on it. God always has
something to say. Mark
1:15 – The time is fulfilled,
and the kingdom of
God is at hand. Repent,
and believe in the gospel.
When God shows up, the
Holy Spirit takes the Word
and applies it to the heart.
HE speaks and touches the
heart regarding sin, relationships,
etc.
As we serve God, we will
see things happen. In Mark
1:21-28, the people saw a
miracle occur they would
have missed, if they had not
been there. When we miss
church, we too, can miss
great happenings, within
the congregation. As the
Holy Spirit moves with His
mighty power, lives will be
changed.
However, Beware the adversary
will place people in
a church to disrupt services.
The Holy Spirit will discern
what is real and what is not
of God.
As wonders we behold, the
gospel will spread. We will
be amazed at what we have
seen and tell others, because
Christ is in our midst.
