Looks Like Jesus To Me by The
Talleys
I saw them giving
food to the hungry
Beneath the bridge in
Nashville, Tennessee
Someone looked my way
And asked, “Who are they?”
I said, “Looks like Jesus to me”
Looks like Jesus to me
Looks like what he’s called us to be
I think that’s what he’d
do, if he were me and you
When we love the broken
people that we see
Looks like Jesus to me
I saw him at the altar,
Sunday morning
He lived his life out loud for all to see
But I watched them surround him
And Pray with their
arms around him
And love him like he’s family
Looks like Jesus to me
Looks like what he’s called us to be
I think that’s what he’d
do, if he were me and you
When we love the broken
people that we see
Looks like Jesus to me
Have you ever wondered
what he looked like
His hand, his eyes, his face his hair
Could it be he gives you and me
A glimpse of himself when
we see someone who cares
Looks like Jesus to me
Looks like what he’s called us to be
I think that’s what he’d
do, if he were me and you
When we love the broken
people that we see
When we love the broken
people that we see
Looks like Jesus to me

Pastor Bubba Hoggatt
Jerry Mac led the choir in a
beautiful arrangement of “Who
Am I”. Brother Bubba‘s message
today was “Blessed Assurance
“. part three. Psalms 139:
19 -24. God is omnipresent. He
is everywhere at the same time.
God is omniscience. He has all
knowledge. God is omnipotent.
He has all power. He created
everything. He has power and
authority over all creation . All
creation is by Him and for Him.
He holds everything together.
God knows everyone’s thoughts
and the events in their lives —
no secrets. Without faith and
accepting Jesus Christ as Savior
it is impossible to please God.
There are only the righteous
or wicked in God’s sight. No
amount of good works by the
unsaved pleases God. Although,
we Christians still sin, we are
covered with the blood of Jesus,
and God sees us as righteous. In
psalms 139: 19-22, David presents
the two sides. He says until
saved you are wicked – living
for the Devil. David presents
them as hating God, and in turn,
counted them as enemies. Only
two eternal places to go, Heaven
or Hell. In versus 23 and 24,
David is crying out to God to
search him and show him any
wicked ways in his heart and to
lead him to live holy

Associate Pastor Stephen Murry
Luke 18:9-14 – Two men went
up to the temple to pray, one
a Pharisee and the other a tax
collector. One says how qualified
he is for God’s Kingdom;
the other feels unworthy. Which
will God receive?
Do we think we are better than
others, because we go to church,
never divorced, been to prison,
etc.? Then God is speaking
to us! The Pharisee does great
things: faithful husband, fine
citizen, tithed to the church, role
model of the day. He has a heart
for religion, but his religion has
not heart. God does not accept
people for what they do. It is
only through Christ Jesus. This
man had an “I” problem. He had
an inflated view of who he was
and a deflated view of God. All
have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God – Romans 3:23.
The Publican was despised
by others because of his reputation.
However, His humility
impressed God: standing afar
off, would not … raise his eyes
to heaven … saying, ‘God, be
merciful to me a sinner!’ Psalm
34:18 – The Lord is near to
those who have a broken heart,
and saves such as have a contrite
spirit.
It is not how you see God, but
how God sees you. His mercy is
what one gets, when one admits
they need Him. Even David, a
man after God’s own heart, was
forgiven of his sin with Bathsheba,
when he repented; just as this
tax collector; just as God forgives
us. Our sins are forgiven,
when they are placed under the
blood of Christ. Matthew 23:12b
– he who humbles himself will
be exalted. Which one are you?
