Sunday was a full day at DeanBaptist-
Church. Started the day with Sunday
School then Worship. After church,
lunch was served then the Vacation
Bible School
program. After the program there
were water slides to enjoy.
Sunday high attendance of 85 in Sunday
school followed by a church full
in attendance. It is a blessing to see
God’s house full.
2025 Vacation Bible School is in the
books. We had a great week learning
about Jesus. Average children attendance
was 67, with the high of 76 one
night. Average adult attendance was
46, with the high attendance of 47.
The best part was that 2 children gave
their heart to Jesus! We know lots of
seeds were planted this week and are
looking forward to see what God has
planned.

Rev. Hank Hamilton
Q: Have you ever noticed just how
good and giving your family, friends,
church family and yes, even strangers
in our very own local community can
be? Our church and community have
just, once again, pulled together to
help one of ours through one of God’s
lesser tribulations… but a tribulation
none-the-less.
Being kind, compassionate and giving
all adds up to us living the lessons
of the Love that Jesus taught us. He
gave and loved freely; He showed us
and told us how to live. Jesus asked
us… Nay!… told us, to love one another,
John 13:34 “A new command I
give you: Love one another. As I have
loved you, so you must love one another.”
And when one person loves another;
the giving, helping, looking after
others just comes naturally. You, the
‘family’ of Union Parish showed your
love and compassion by visiting our
charity rummage sale. We thank all
who came out — it was huge success
and is the blessing we hoped it would
be.
There are several Bible verses that reinforce
the importance of being kind,
generous and loving – the importance
of having empathy and compassion
for the feelings and needs of others.
1 John 3:18 “Little children, let us not
love in word or talk, but in deed and
in truth.”
Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind to one
another, tenderhearted…”
Matthew 5:48 “Live out your
God-created identity. Live generously
and graciously toward others, the way
God lives toward you.”
Philippians 2:4 “Let each of you look
not only to his own interests, but also
to the interests of others.”
John 13:34 “By this everyone will
know that you are my disciples, if you
love one another.”
1 Peter 3:8: “Finally, all of you, be
like-minded, be sympathetic, love one
another, be compassionate and humble.”

Pastor Bubba Hoggatt
The Doxology was the title of the sermon
brought by Bro. Bubba Hoggatt
for the morning service on July 27,
- The scripture reference for this
sermon was from Revelation chapter
4 and Habakkuk 1:1-4 and 2:20. Bro.
Bubba defined the word doxology as
a word of glory, a brief formula for
expressing praise to God. It is a reminder
of who brings us every good
thing. Many doxologies are found in
the Book of Psalms. Paul also frequently
used many doxologies in his
letters and writings to Christians. In 2
Corinthians 12:2-4, Paul says he was
transported to the third heaven, spiritually
or physically, he wasn’t sure,
but he praised God for it. A Doxology
is a praise to the One who is worthy of
all of our praise. It is our expression to
Him of our acknowledgement of His
infinite power. It is praise to the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Reminder – Revelation 4:1-11
These scriptures give us an indication
of the rapture with the 24 elders representing
Christians in heaven. Verse 11
tells us God is worthy of our praise always.
It also tells us that God always
was and will always be; He is infinite.
He created all things and that He is always
in control; He always has been
and always will be.
Reassurance – Habakkuk 11:1-4, 2:20
These verses list many of the troubles
of the world and Habakkuk is
questioning how long God will let it
go on. Verse 20 gives us a doxology;
“The Lord is in His holy temple. Let
all the earth keep silence before Him.”
No matter what happens in each of our
lives, God always remains constant
and in His temple.
Revealing – Revelation 4:3-5
These verses tell of God’s brilliance. It
cannot be fully imagined. We cannot
on Earth see it and live. This is what
God told Moses. He did put Moses
in a cleft of the rock and just let him
see His back in passing. Even just this
caused Moses to have shining about
his face.
We should have a doxology in our
hearts and minds. God deserves our
praise and it will remind us who God
is, reassure us of who God is and reveal
His Greatness to us.
The contrast of our eternal life in
heaven if we are saved compared with
the unsaved person’s eternal life in
hell is very stark. And we can never
know when our last opportunity to be
saved will be.

Associate Pastor Stephen Murry
Romans 14:9-18: It is time we ‘grow
up’ in Christ. The Judge is coming,
and we are not Him! Christ is Lord
of both the dead and the living; lost
and saved; The rightful one to judge,
impartial and unbiased, not influenced
by appearance. For the Father judges
no one, but has committed all judgment
to the Son – John 5:22. When we
give an account of ourself, it will not
be the quantity, but the quality of what
we have done for Jesus.
When it comes to God, we are not
law makers. HE Is. So then each of
us shall give account of himself to
God. Therefore, let us not judge one
another anymore, but rather resolve
this, not to put a stumbling block or
a cause to fall. Galatians 6:1 – you
who are spiritual restore such a one in
a spirit of gentleness.
This is not to say we are ever to condone
sin. Conservative Christians
should make a stand against what is
sin, according to the Bible. If God
says it is wrong, it is wrong. However,
do not judge something regarding
personal feelings or preferences. Our
lives affect others. If we do something
that affects a weaker brother, we
should not do it, nor try to encourage
them to do it. Once our testimony is
marred, we have little affect on others.
We are placing obstacles before them.
Also, we are to avoid the appearance
of evil.
The truth we must all accept is things
we eat, the way we dress, etc. are all
trivial matters. For the kingdom of
God is … righteousness and peace and
joy in the Holy Spirit.
