Faith, Forgiveness and Sobriety…
There was an announcement from
www.redlakenationnews … “It’s
with heavy hearts we announce a
warrior has been called home (7-
2021). Saginaw Morgan Grant,
prolific Native American actor and
hereditary chief of the Sac & Fox
tribes. Mr. Grant traveled the world
speaking of his traditions, his experiences,
his sobriety and his faith as
a Native American, former Marine
and Christian.”
In a radio interview he said that
young people were his focus in
terms of sharing traditions, culture
and his faith. “I listened to my
grandma and grandpas. I think that’s
what young people should do today

  • listen. Retain something of what
was said to you. Our grandmas and
grandpas didn’t lie to us when they
told us how to live our lives. They
didn’t lie to us – they wanted us to
be successful, they wanted us to be
productive, they wanted us to be
    happy.”
    Proverbs 1:8-10 “Hear, my son,
    your father’s instruction, and forsake
    not your mother’s teaching, for
they are a graceful garland for your
head and pendants for your neck.
My son, if sinners entice you, do not
    consent.”
    While receiving a humanitarian
award, Mr. Grant told his audience,
“Every morning, I start off my day
by talking to the Creator,” he said.
I go to recovery houses where men
are suffering and wanting to get
away from alcohol. I know that life.
I’ve been through it. And when I
talk to them, they know I’ve had
that experience they are in or are
going through. I was at one time an
alcoholic myself, but I’m no longer
an alcoholic. And it makes me feel
very proud because I’m making up
for what disgrace I did bring to my
people when I was using alcohol.
The Creator gave us the ability to
know right from wrong. We just
have to make the right decision.”
    A young Saginaw Grant experienced
    situations, both good and bad,
like people face today. Yet he overcame
    his obstacles. We can, too.
    All sin, including alcoholism, drags
us down, weighs on our hearts,
crushes our spirit, and hurts people
around us who love us. Let us trust
    in God’s forgiveness and guidance.
Let us forgive ourselves and continue
to live and love in the light of
Jesus. “The LORD is close to the
    brokenhearted and saves those who
are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

    Conformed (part 2).Romans 8:29.
When we accept Jesus as our savior,
    being conformed to His image
is not a choice. He creates something
    new in us. This transformation
can be easy and joyful, or hard
if we resist. God’s son is a picture
of what he wants us to be while we
live here on this earth. He wants us
to look different from the world. He
wants others to be able to see Jesus
    in us.Purpose of conforming.1) For
    Ministry With Christ.I Corinthians
1: 3-7.God allows us to go through
hard times to experience his comfort.
Then, He can use us to comfort
others in distress. If we are in
a state of self-pity, we can’t be used
    by God tominister.II) From Misery
    in Christ.John 15: 11, 12, 13, 17.If
we are not allowing ourselves to be
conformed , we are living in misery.
David was miserable until he repented
and regained the joy of his
    salvation. Job, Daniel, and Sampson
are other examples of misery until
they allowed God to conform them
to Christ’s image. It’s not about us.
It’s about Him.III) For Mastery by
    Christ. Luke.6:40.He is the master.
We are the servant. He will conform
us to realize this through health,
wealth, or stealth. Stealth is something
no one knows about us, but
God. The Psalmist says “ search me
oh God and show me my wicked
    ways”. Christ should be everything
to us. If He is, it will show in the
    way we live.

John 4:19-26: Verse 9 – the woman
of Samaria said to Him, “How is it
that You, being a Jew, ask a drink
from me, a Samaritan woman?” Jesus
let her know HE knew her and
preceded to address her sin. We cannot
get right with God, until we acknowledge
our sins. She immediately
changed the subject to the place
of worship, to which Jesus pointed
to the spirit of worship; not how we
worship, but Who we worship.
The priority of worship – True
worshipers worship in spirit and in
truth. HE wants us to worship and
commune with Him. The house of
God is where we come to hear from,
meet and interact with God.
God desires us to worship; HE is
worthy. True worship is offering
sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving.
HE demands worship. Psalm
95:6 – Oh come, let us worship…
It is outright disobedience not to
worship; disobedience is sin. HE
deserves our worship. Without Him
we would be bound for Hell.
The person of worship is the Heavenly
Father. Merely being present
is not worship. Even when present,
if our mind is focused on anything
but Him, we are not worshiping. HE
deserves our undivided attention
– Be still and know that I am God
(Psalm 46:10). The power of worship
affects our hearts and minds.
It will transform not only our life,
but also the Church’s life. With real
worship, God is glorified; the congregation
is edified; the believer is
sanctified; the lost is evangelized.
As a result, purifying power cleans
the soul; sanctifying power gives a
strong desire to serve Him; edifying
power deepens our walk and faith.
Are you a true worshipper?
