Q: Ever been late for something?
Wellllll, we apologize for NOT having
an Article for you last week. Life just
gets in the way sometimes. We hope you
“missed us” and will enjoy and be led
closer to Jesus through today’s article.
Speaking of being late; we Christians
know that we do Not want to be late for
that great banquet with Jesus when we
get to Heaven. We don’t want the gate
of Heaven to be closed to us when we
arrive. How do we ensure that we will
be welcomed with open arms by our
Lord and Savior? A good start would
be living each day with this song in our
hearts: Here I Am, Lord Songwriter,
Daniel L Schutte Sung by Collin Raye
I, the Lord of sea and sky I have heard
my people cry All who dwell in dark and
sin My hand will save I, who made the
stars of night I will make their darkness
bright Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send? Here I am, Lord Is
it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the
night I will go Lord, if You lead me I will
hold Your people in my heart I, the Lord
of snow and rain I have borne my people’s
pain I have wept for love of them
They turn away I will break their hearts
of stone Give them hearts for love alone
I will speak my word to them Whom
shall I send?
Here I am, Lord Is it I, Lord? I have heard
You calling in the night I will go Lord, if
You lead me I will hold Your people in
my heart I, the Lord of wind and flame
I will tend the poor and lame I will set
a feast for them My hand will save Finest
bread I will provide &Til their hearts
be satisfied I will give my life to them
Whom shall I send? Here I am, Lord Is
it I, Lord? I have heard You calling in
the night I will go Lord, if You lead me I
will hold Your people in my heart Oh, I
will hold Your people in my heart In our
beautiful loving, giving church we often
change the line when God asks “whom
shall I send?” from “Is it I, Lord?” To a
servant sentence saying (NOT asking)…
IT IS I, LORD. We are in a new season
of Lent when we are intentionally aware
of our blessings, aware of our sins and
aware of our scared duty to serve others
in the name of Christ Jesus. Let each
one of us Not Be Late in serving Jesus
through our daily good deeds.

Joshua may have seen more of the supernatural
workings of God than any man
who ever lived. He walked through the
dry seabed of the Red Sea. He ate manna
and quail provided by God’s hand. He
walked around the walls of Jericho. He
saw God give victory after victory to
Israel. Joshua’s most famous utterance,
found in Joshua 24:14, came not long before
his death, “…But as for me and my
house, we will serve the Lord.” Most of
us would proclaim Joshua’s statement as
our own desire, and so did the Israelites.
“We will serve the Lord,” they cried,
confident and sure of their continuing
devotion to the God who had shown
them favor, who had poured out His
love and provision on them. There was
no other god who could stand against the
Lord their God! But their devotion and
commitment would sadly fade, as does
ours all too often. The false gods of this
world can draw us away. The gods of
pleasure, greed, entertainment, power,
knowledge, success, relaxation and satisfaction
can easily begin to lure us away
from our zeal and commitment to the
Lord. We can’t stay close to God, living
righteously in our own power. But when
we come to a saving, life-changing faith,
the Holy Spirit comes into our lives to
provide two things: 1) The seal of Jesus’
saving grace, and 2) The power to live
for God and experience the change He
desires in us.

Pastor Bubba Hoggatt
Bro. Bubba’s message today was on
stewardship. A steward is someone who
transacts the business of another. We
are to be faithful stewards of all God’s
creation. Everything belongs to God. He
knows every fowl of the air. He knows
every creature. We don’t own anything.
He owns everything and we are to be His
stewards. As Christians, we are to be His
representatives. We might be the only
Bible some people read. People examine
our lives. When we “mess up “, we are
read. It hurts our testimony. Here are five
things for which we will be held accountable.
1) We will be held accountable for
our time. Ephesians 5: 15-16. We have
all wasted some of the time God has given
us. We ignore God in some of our activities.
The use of time spent on things
that will out last us, honoring God, is all
that is important. Life is ticking away.
2) We will be held accountable for our
talents. Matthew 25:14-30. Every Christian
is blessed with something he can
use for God. He expects us to use it to
bring glory to Him. 3) We will be held
accountable for our use of His possessions.
James 2: 14-17. Every gift comes
from God. We have been so blessed. We
should use our possessions to help others.
4) We will be held accountable for
our souls. Luke12: 16-21. Our soul is the
eternal part of us. Accepting the Lord Jesus
Christ is the most important thing we
have to give. Jesus gave His life, that we
may have eternal life with Him. 5) We
will be held accountable for our opportunities.
There are things we do selfishly.
There are things we do in the Spirit of
God. Things not done to show the love
of God, will burn up. When we realize
someone is hurting, but we are too busy
to help, we have missed an opportunity
to bring Glory to God.

Associate Pastor Stephen Murry
Acts 5:12-15 – so that they brought the
sick out into the streets … that at least
the shadow of Peter passing by might fall
on some of them. Parents cast a shadow
over children, grandchildren. Teachers
cast shadows over those they instruct;
pastors, deacons, Sunday School teachers
… everywhere we go, we each cast
shadows.
… but the people esteemed them highly.
The apostles had a good influence
over many people. The early church
was morally pure. When Ananias and
Sapphira lied about the offering they
gave the church, the Holy Spirit held
them accountable. The sin was not in
how much they gave, but in what they
said they gave. The Church should “step
up” to God’s level, not “step down” to
the world’s. Be holy, as I am holy – First
Peter 1:16. We are to live a holy life; one
where we are respected by the way we
live. We are to be faithful, relying on
God to give us the strength to ‘keep on,
keeping on’. And believers were increasingly
added to the Lord, multitudes of
both men and women. The early apostles
lived a dynamic life, which gave people
confidence in how they were to serve.
We as Believers have a job to do, but
it is up to us to do it. We are to share
Christ wherever we are. Have you cast a
shadow where someone gave their heart
to Christ Jesus? Peter merely passed by
We, too, cast a shadow, when we share
with others, encouraging one another to
live a Christian life. We all cast a shadow
for good or bad. It is up to us.
