Camp memories echo amid flood’s grief

My AI friend and I have calculated that since my
camping experiences in the 1960s and 1970s, approximately
150 million American children have attended
summer camp. Perhaps you were one of them.
If so, I hope your experience was as amazing
and life-changing as mine was.
I attended Camp Ch-Yo-Ca (a Christian Youth
Camp) in Calhoun. It’s easy to list some of the
most-remembered aspects of those days, many
of them sounding like camping cliches but, no –
instead, they were incredibly special and meaningful.
Some of my fondest memories include:
Singing around the campfires at night, embers
drifting up toward heaven, just like our
songs of praise.
