On October 1st, the Union Parish Clerk of Court
announced on their Facebook page that they would
be closed on October 2nd in order to relocate
to the Hub, a commercial private office space in
Farmerville. Sources at the courthouse revealed to
the Gazette the presence of black mold growing in
the Courthouse Document Storage.
Black mold, also known as Stachybotrys, is a type
of fungus that grows in warm, damp areas; it most
commonly grows and spreads on materials that
contain a lot of cellulose, including paper products,
wood products, and drywall.
