Hello all. If any of you missed last Sunday’s Revival message delivered by Don Gates, Jr. -– you most definitely missed a message meant FOR all of us. Mr. Don read and “preached” on Jesus’ last words to us. Revelation 22:20 “… Yes, I am coming again.”
The Chapter 22 shares John’s vision of a new creation and brings the book to a close. The new Jerusalem represents a new and greater Eden, free of sin and curse, where God’s people will serve him forever. … God’s people, freed from sin, finally will be able to behold God’s face. How glorious that will be for us.
Eden Restored Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
John and the Angel
The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.” “Look, I am coming soon!
I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!” Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near.
The question asked of us during this Revival service was; are we prepared for the return of Christ Jesus? Are we worthy of God’s free gift of the water of life?
He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”

Building Up the Body of Christ – 2 Cor. 13:7-10
In today’s scripture, Paul addresses an apparent misunderstanding. Verse 10 reads, “This is why I am writing these things while absent, so that when I am there I may not have to deal harshly with you, in keeping with the authority the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.”
Paul viewed himself as a father to this church. When we are young, no one knows us better than our parents. No one loves us more, no one worries about us more, and no one wants us to succeed more.
Lest they feel that he is tearing them down, Paul makes sure that the church understands his heart. As a parent, when our children step out of line, we correct them. To our child, it seems mean, but in reality, it is an act of love.
Paul had been called and set apart by the Lord. This gave him the assurance that he was not in his mission to build up the church alone. Every word he wrote, every visit he made, every earnest prayer he prayed, God was with him.
Paul traveled about and served in the Name of the Lord of Hosts. He did what he did in the power and protection of the Lord, and he realized the results of his labor belonged to the Lord.
A wise pastor knows he can’t control everything. He can’t fix everything. He can’t make you more Christ-like. He can’t save you. But God can.
We all have a purpose. We have different gifts and different levels of responsibility, but we share the same calling. In Matthew 28, we are told, “as you go, make disciples.” We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, evangelizing the world, growing and strengthening the Body of Christ, in the power of Christ.

Scripture Reference -II Kings 5:1-19
The Poison of Pride – II Kings 5:1-12
This is the account of Naaman, deliverer of Syria. Naaman was prideful. He was a great man in Syria. God had given through Naaman deliverance from Syria’s enemies. Naaman expected Elisha to respect and honor him when he came to Elisha for healing from his leprosy. When he came to Elisha he expected Elisha to come out and greet him and treat him with deference to his authority and status. Instead Elisha simply sent word out to him to dip himself in the Jordan River seven times. Naaman was offended and furious and left in a rage. His servants spoke with him respectfully and reminded him that if Elisha had asked him to do some great act he would have complied. They then asked him why not do the simple act Elisha had laid out. He did and was healed.
The Courage of a Child – II Kings 5:2-4
A little Jewish girl, who was probably approximately 8-14 years old, was a captive in Syria and a servant to Naaman’s wife. She told her mistress and others about the power of God given to Elisha to heal people. She stepped out on her faith without knowing the consequences to tell of God’s power and to help her master.
The Healing By Humility – II Kings 5:13-18
The simple act of dipping into the Jordan River seven times was all that was needed. A simple act, not a grand gesture. We do not earn our salvation by great or good deeds. It is a gift of God given through HIs Son, Jesus Christ, by His death on the cross and His resurrection three days later. He conquered sin and death.
To believe that Jesus is the Son of God means that we trust in Him with our mind, will, and emotions. This change is wrought by God and when we follow Him truly He will change us to be more like Him. Many people try to make salvation too hard. Do we give ourselves wholly to God or hold back some portion as our own?

Luke 15:11-24: Prodigal Son– Waster of gifts and resources. This son was more concerned with pleasing his flesh, than pleasing God. Possibly tired of living under rules and responsibilities at home; wanting to live as he pleased. This son traded the love of his father for ‘losing’ relationships. His feast eventually turned to famine. In spite of being a Jew, he is now in wanting; desiring to not only feed the pigs, he is craving the food they are eating.
Now, no money, no friends, hanging out with the pigs! But when he came to himself … he remembered his father and that his servants were faring better than he. And he said, I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants… And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him…
The father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. And this is just how God the Father is, when we come to Him. The sacrifice has been made – Christ Jesus. God takes us, cleans us up, Heaven rejoices!
