State Police arrest three northeast Louisiana
law-enforcement officers on DWI allegations
Louisiana State Police arrested three northeast
Louisiana law-enforcement officers on first-offense
DWI allegations during a 16-day span, according to
arrest and booking records and local reporting reviewed
by the Gazette.
The arrests involved Union Parish Sheriff’s Office
Deputy Ronald S. Leonard, longtime Lincoln Parish
Sheriff’s Office official Chad Alan Alexander and
Monroe Police Officer Dominic Lyn Simpson. Each
case is separate, and none of the records reviewed
showed a conviction or other final disposition.
Leonard, 70, of Spearsville, was stopped at approximately
11:15 p.m. Aug. 20 on North Main Street
in Farmerville, according to a State Police arrest affidavit.
His detention center booking entry is dated
Aug. 21.
