Union Parish Ballot Set with 78 Candidates for Nov. 3 Election

School board, judicial and municipal contests highlight a crowded election year

Qualifying has closed for the Nov. 3 election, leaving Union Parish voters with a ballot stretching from the United States Senate and Congress to school board, judicial, justice of the peace, constable and municipal offices.

The Louisiana Secretary of State’s candidate inquiry lists 78 candidates under 44 office headings appearing in Union Parish. Sixteen races have more candidates than available seats, while 27 drew either one candidate or exactly enough candidates to fill the available positions. No candidate qualified for the single Village of Lillie alderman position.

The parishwide list includes every race being conducted within Union Parish, but individual ballots will vary according to each voter’s school board district, ward and municipality.
