 After Years of Planning, Farmerville Mega Ramp Nears Construction 

The Town of Farmerville’s long-awaited Lake D’Arbonne Mega Ramp project has reached another major milestone, with engineering complete, state reviews nearing completion, and construction bidding expected to begin within the next several weeks. 

The Gazette recently interviewed Oliver Neal, project engineer with Meyer, Meyer, LaCroix & Hixson (MML&H;), the engineering firm representing the Town of Farmerville on the project, along with Farmerville Town Clerk Gaynell Pepper, to obtain an update on the status of one of the largest public infrastructure projects ever undertaken by the Town. 

According to Neal, the engineering design has been completed and is currently undergoing final review by the State of Louisiana. He said the project has received approval from the Louisiana Department of Health as well as the Louisiana State Fire Marshal. 

Neal reported that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development recently met with project representatives concerning the required driveway permit. MML&H; expects to submit the formal application shortly and anticipates approval. Neal further stated that all required U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permits have now been issued, with only relatively minor wetland mitigation remaining.
