We often refer to the generation that won World War II, returned to America and built our great nation into what it was today. There is a great nation that was erected on the backs of these great Americans but they are not the only generation in our great history. It took a generation of mothers and fathers that built their share of America to produce the sons and daughters that were instilled with a purpose to go to war for a second time, free the world from the yoke of fascism and communism and continue the growth of America at a fever pitch.
The generation that won World War I is often remembered for its courage, sacrifice, and determination. These men and women lived through one of the most difficult periods in modern history. When World War I began in 1914, millions of young men volunteered or were drafted into military service. They fought in harsh conditions in the trenches of Europe, enduring mud, disease, hunger, and constant danger. Many lost their lives, while others returned home with physical and emotional scars. Their bravery helped bring the war to an end in 1918 and shaped the future of their countries.
