Genesis 2:18, 20-22, 24 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs… Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
1 Corinthians 11:12 “For as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God.”
June is traditionally a favorite month for “becoming one flesh”, ie… married. And also traditionally, marriage leads to becoming parents. Real Parenting is more than biology; it requires mom and dad working together for the safety and betterment of their offspring. Ecclesiastes 4:9 highlights the value of companionship and shared labor.
If mom and dad are one together in thought and deed throughout their marriage; their children will benefit from it. AND if mom and dad are one together in Christ Jesus; their children will Greatly Benefit from that 3-part harmony of a relationship.
It was once heard that someone thought the number 33 was very significant… in that it being the age of Jesus when He was crucified and resurrected. A thought was that one 3s is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit — the other 3 is a Mom, Dad and the Holy Trinity.
That being said, when we think about marriage/trust in marriage, we think about safety, love, character, and faithfulness. But real true trust is built when husband and wife walk with God, speak honestly, serve one another, and keep covenant promises. Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
In our marriages, we find that having God as the cornerstone is crucial. When we place Him first, we align our hearts and minds according to His will. Unity in our marriages is essential to fulfilling God’s plan for us. (www.BibleRepository) 1 Peter 3:8 “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.”
In our marriages, we can be like-minded by serving one another as a way to demonstrate God’s love. When we put God first, we naturally begin to think of ways to meet our spouses’ needs, just as Christ served us. Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
Christians do believe that God has a purpose for every season of our lives together. If, in our marriages, we do bring children into the world, we soon realize that raising children is a sacred responsibility and one of the greatest joys and challenges in life.
And as Christians, we turn to God’s Word for wisdom, guidance, and encouragement in parenting “We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about His power and His mighty wonders.” Psalm 78:4 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 2 Timothy 3:15 “You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and the Scriptures have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.”
Proverbs 20:7 “The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them.” 3 John 1:4 “I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth.”

Our Scripture is Joshua 1:10-18. Joshua, the new leader of Israel, begins to prepare the people for crossing Jordan and taking their promised land.
As soon as he receives instructions from the Lord, Joshua immediately passes them on. He appoints others to join in the effort. He understands that there is strength in numbers, and the more involved, the more that can be accomplished.
Now half the tribe of Manasseh and two other tribes had already asked for and had been given their land east of the Jordan River. God had given them first choice, and their lands were already conquered and secure. They had rest!
But they weren’t exempt from being a part of the conquest to come. They had to vow to assist their brothers in securing their land. It doesn’t matter how secure our house is, when someone in God’s kingdom has a battle, we are expected to join in.
In fact, the best soldiers of those who already had their land didn’t walk with those who did not. They were to go before them to lead the way and show their brothers how to conquer.
Israel responded by saying, “Everything you have commanded us we will do….” That is not the norm today. We’re taught to do our own thing; follow our own way. It is common to reject the instruction of others.
But when it comes to the instructions of God, if we do not listen and obey, the consequences are beyond dire. Rejecting God’s Word – and the Living Word who came as His Son – equates to eternal death.
The Good News is that there is life abundant, now on earth and for all eternity, when we ask Jesus to save us from our sins and make Him the Lord of our life.

Jessie brought our special music today, “ It is Finished”.
Today we are celebrating the Lord’s Supper. The title of brother Bubba’s message was “Lord’s Supper”. The supper is for comfort, cleansing, consecration, commission, gratitude, and confirmation that we will spend eternity in Heaven. Jesus’ blood saves all who accept his free gift of salvation and condemns those who reject it to a place in Hell. This is a time to remember what Jesus has done for us. It should burden us for those who don’t know and except Jesus. This is a time to ask the Holy Spirit to help us, examine our lives for any unconfessed sin. This is a time to honor our Heavenly Father. As Christians, we are set apart from the world.
II Corinthians 6: 14. These promises we have are not for the unsaved we should reach out to them and show them Jesus, but not let the world into our lives.
After the message, we celebrated the Lord’s Supper.
Our youth and adults will be leaving in the morning for Centri-fuge at Jackson, Tennessee. Be in prayer for these.

Bro. Bill delivered the message from I Kings 3:5-14. God supplies wisdom and blessings to those who ask of Him. God forgives ALL sin and can bless the forgiven sinner afterwards regardless of our background. Solomon’s other name was Jedidiah, which means “beloved of the Lord”. No matter what our turbulent beginning, we can inherit the name “Jedidiah” by accepting Christ. The key to success is loving the Lord and being obedient. Solomon’s multiple marriages for political gain illustrates our multiple relationships with the world for security and position. When Solomon became increased with goods, he began to walk away from God. We need to learn that lesson today before we stray as individuals and churches. We need the same kind of commitment today as when the temple was constructed. In today’s market the cost of building that temple would be 5 billion dollars. It took 30 thousand plus men to construct and seven years to complete. That’s commitment! Jesus is world renowned. He owns the world. He is the WORD OF LIFE. The Bible is world renowned. Jesus died for sin of the world, began the church, unified worship to on and only God. Solomon made mistakes — Jesus doesn’t.
In the evening, we joined Bethany in Bastrop for our monthly fellowship meeting with good food and most importantly, wonderful fellowship with God’s people.

During the Apollo 11 mission on July 20, 1969, Buzz Aldrin celebrated the first Christian Communion (in a moment of privacy) on the lunar surface. Today we take the Lord’s Supper openly, in ‘Remembrance of Me”, as instructed by Christ Jesus, during His final meal with His Apostles.
Exodus 12 – The Passover first began, when some of the blood of a lamb without blemish, was placed on the doorposts. The death angel would ‘pass over’ these houses; It is the Lord’s Passover. From Genesis to Revelation we see God’s picture of ‘Redemption”. John the Baptist, himself declared in John 1:29 – “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! In Hebrews 9:22 – And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. Hebrews 9:28 – so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him HE will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Today, those who have received Christ into their heart, are ‘passed over’, because of Christ, who being sinless (without blemish), shed His blood for us. Luke 22:17-19 – Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And HE took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Christ Jesus Is the Perfect Lamb of God.
