Responsibilities of the Christian Life ~Titus 2:1-10
We can all agree that we are living in crazy times. This is not the same community, country or world we grew up in.
The concept of “Truth” is challenged from all directions. The basic order of everything from biology to the home is challenged. Up is down, right is wrong. Common sense is gone. Anything goes!
It is imperative that Christians understand our place and responsibility in this world. The words Paul wrote long ago to the first century Church in Crete apply to us as well.
As our Scripture today reading indicates, it is crucial to hold to sound doctrine within the Church. A solid foundation of Biblical understanding is an absolute necessity.
The Church has become so man-centered – what I like, what I can get, what makes me feel good. But sound doctrine doesn’t lead us to ourselves. Rather, it exalts God, deepening our confidence in Him and molding us to be more and more Christ-like.
From sound doctrine flows solid Christian conduct. How we live our lives matters! What we believe drives the things we do. If our doctrinal understanding is weak or wrong, our lives are probably not going to reflect Christ as they should.
But if our interpretation and understanding of God’s Word is sound, and our conduct matches our claim to know Christ, then our influence can be what it should be for others. Our example may be the most influential teaching tool in drawing others to Christ.
May the lives we live reflect the life and words of Christ our Savior, influencing others to draw near to Hi

Pastor Bubba Hoggatt
The men of the choir brought our special music today “Just a Little Talk With Jesus”.
The title of Bro Bubba’s message today was “Unfailing Love”. 2 Samuel 21: 10-12.
Rizpah was a concubine of Saul. She was probably snatched from her home at a young age. She was abused and used for child bearing. She showed her endless mother’s love through courage, strength, and endurance.
There was a famine in the days of David for three years. David inquired of the Lord as to why. TheLord answered and said it was because of Saul who had killed the Gibeonites. Joshua had made a covenant with these people, and God expected the covenant to be kept. Without consulting God, David went to the Gibeonites and asked what he could do for atonement. The Gibeonites told him to deliver to them seven of Saul’s sons and they would hang them. David chose the sons, two of which were Rizpah’s. The Gibeonites executed them and left them hanging on a wall. Rizpah spread sackcloth on a stone nearby and sat for about six months keeping the birds and beasts from the bodies. This showed her endless mother’s love. How much more must our Heavenly Father love us.

Proverbs 31: 10-31; This passage is a poem written in tribute to a virtuous woman. It presents, as the model of the ideal Godly wife and mother that should be reached for, but never quite obtained completely, this side of Heaven. First, is the worth of the virtuous woman. The real value of a woman is not in her outward beauty and charm, but from her inner virtue or moral strength, just as a ruby has an internal glow. Part of her worth is her good works. She is honest, loyal, prudent and faithful. She is a hard worker and willingly does everything for her earthly family, but also for her heavenly Father’s delight. She also has wisdom. She knows how to handle business of the household and an extension of her home. She is able to care for the family, as well as helping the needy, administers to the hurting around her. In doing so, she sets a good example for her children. “Her husband is well known in the gates”, but those around him, knows she is his helpmate and an encourager. She completes him by standing alongside him. Everything she does is to build up her family. Her clothing, as mentioned in this passage is another way of saying dignity. She is able to control her words with her children, husband and others. She is a witness to her community. She is praised in the gates. Her involvement in the community, helping others around her is showing them Christ in her by her words and deeds. Godly mothers want to see their children saved and living for God above anything else.
