Small shifts that somehow feel just right

By: Sallie Rose Hollis

I’m wondering how many people share this aspect of my current life:

Doing things now (“at my/your age”) that you never thought you’d do in a million years.

These days I’m constantly amazed at some of what I find myself doing and saying – and so far my cognitive skills seem to be pretty much intact. So, no, I’m not talking about putting the car keys in the freezer … yet. I’m talking about little things that some folks might not even notice.

But you know me. Somehow, I look for details – maybe all those years as a copy editing prof – and often find humor in them.
