A rock and a red SUV got me thinking

By Sallie Rose Hollis

Sometimes something dawns on me, and I realize I must have been living under a rock for the past little while. Or maybe the past BIG while.

Case in point: One of my friends recently bought a new SUV. She was thrilled, of course, and especially pleased to be able to get a red one. With her description, it almost sounded as if – instead of red – the vehicle’s paint was made from pure gold.

I didn’t understand, and being the inquisitive journalist that I am (even though journalists don’t hide under rocks), I asked her about it.
