Motorcyclist Dies in Union Parish Crash

Bernice – On Friday, July 25, 2025, shortly before
3:00 p.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police
Troop F began investigating a single-vehicle
fatal crash on U.S. Hwy 167 just south of Louisiana
Hwy 2. The crash claimed the life of 69-year-old
David Voorhies of Woodville, Mississippi.
The preliminary investigation revealed that
Voorhies was driving a 2008 Honda motorcycle
north on U.S. Hwy 167. For reasons still under investigation,
the motorcycle exited the roadway and
collided with a cattle gate.
